At the heart of OKX’s mission is a culture built on three foundational principles: We Before Me, Do the Right Thing, and Get Things Done. These values shape a collaborative, high-performance environment where compliance isn’t just a requirement—it's a shared responsibility.

The Role: Leading Compliance Across the Americas

As Head of Compliance, Americas, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing OKX’s regulatory strategy across one of the most dynamic and complex financial landscapes in the world. Based in San Jose, this leadership position demands deep expertise in U.S., Canadian, and Caribbean regulatory frameworks, with a strategic focus on innovation, market expansion, and risk mitigation.

You will report directly to global compliance leadership and serve as the primary liaison between OKX and key regulatory bodies across North America and the Caribbean—including U.S. federal and state regulators (such as those overseeing securities and derivatives), FINTRAC in Canada, and the Central Bank of The Bahamas.

Core Responsibilities

1. Developing a Regional Compliance Framework

You will design, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive compliance program tailored to the Americas region. This includes aligning regional strategies with global standards while addressing jurisdiction-specific requirements—from anti-money laundering (AML) protocols to consumer protection regulations.

Your strategic input will be critical in supporting new product launches, especially in high-complexity areas like digital asset derivatives, ensuring all offerings meet regulatory expectations before market entry.

2. Driving Market Expansion with Regulatory Precision

As OKX expands its footprint in the U.S., Canada, and the Bahamas, your leadership will ensure each new market entry is grounded in compliance excellence. You’ll oversee licensing processes such as U.S. Money Transmitter Licenses (MTLs), Canadian provincial registrations, and Bahamian regulatory obligations, managing renewals, reporting, and ongoing adherence.

With experience in NYDFS BitLicense and CFTC-regulated entities, you’ll provide authoritative guidance on navigating complex regulatory environments—especially for derivatives and fintech-driven financial products.

3. Leading a High-Performing Compliance Team

You will build, mentor, and lead a team of compliance professionals across the region. Your leadership will foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and proactive risk management—essential traits in an industry where regulations evolve rapidly.

Regular training programs, clear performance metrics, and cross-functional collaboration will be central to maintaining a resilient compliance posture.

4. Managing Regulatory Relationships

As the senior representative for OKX in regulatory engagements, you will lead interactions with authorities during audits, examinations, and investigations. Your ability to communicate clearly, respond effectively, and maintain strong relationships will be vital to OKX’s reputation and operational continuity.

This includes preparing detailed reports for executive leadership and governance committees on compliance performance, emerging risks, enforcement trends, and strategic initiatives.

5. Staying Ahead of Regulatory Change

The digital asset space is constantly evolving. You must monitor shifts in policy—such as updates to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, OFAC sanctions, or new guidance from the CFTC or SEC—and adapt compliance frameworks accordingly.

Your insights will help position OKX not just as a compliant player, but as a thought leader influencing best practices in crypto regulation.
